Dogecoin Continues to Fall After Elon Musk Says He Will Resign as Twitter CEO

Cryptory.net - DOGE was one of the worst performing cryptocurrencies over the last 24 hours after billionaire Elon Musk says he will step down as Twitter CEO.

“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job. After that, I will jusst run the software and servers teams”, said Elon Musk on Twitter. This is the first time Musk has mentioned resigning as Twitter CEO after letting users vote on whether he should step down as the head of Twitter and 57.5% of voters said “Yes”.

Many Wall Street investors have called for Musk to step down as Twitter CEO in recent weeks, and even Tesla shareholders who benefited from Musk’s takeover of Twitter have also expressed doubts about the billionaire’s ability when he had to maintain both companies at the same time.

Musk has himself admitted he had too much on his plate, and said he would look for a Twitter CEO. However, “there is no one willing and capable of running Twitter Inc”, the billionaire said.

As we all know, Elon Musk has a huge influence on DOGE price. Earlier, shortly aftẻ the news that Musk completed the $44 billion acquisition of Twitter spread, DOGE continuously rallied for a week, jumping from $0.05911 to $0.15952 (up 170%). Rumor has it that Dogecoin, Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency, will be integrated into Twitter, creating a buying craze. But after about 7 weeks since Musk took over, there is no confirmation of DOGE integration.

DOGE now keeps sliding and trading at $0.73. Its 24-hour trading volume was down by 39.3 per cent at $390,791,705. Despite the whopping price decline, DOGE bears may just be getting started.
