Twitter to Launch New “Coins” Feature

Jane Manchun Wong, a well-known technical expert, revealed that social media giant Twitter is about to launch a new feature called “Coins”.

This feature will allow users to tip certain tweets by clicking on Twitter’s internal token with fiat currency.

While it is unlikely that these tokens will exist on the blockchain, it is possible that they will be added as a payment method through Stripe, an internet technology platform that supports payments and other types of transactions in many countries.

For now, it looks like those getting tips will have to wait until they earn at least $50, which is the same minimum withdrawal amount for those who are monetizing from the “Super Follows” feature.

Rumors of Twitter’s potential tips and internal token features started circulating in late 2022.

As reported, Twitter has backed the plan to launch a cryptocurrency wallet after being acquired by Elon Musk. Recently, Twitter also released a new crypto feature that allows users to search for price updates.

Twitter users can now search for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) prices simply by typing “Bitcoin” or “Ethereum” into the search tab.
