Two Argentina Banks Allow Customers to Trade Cryptocurrencies

Cryptory.net - Two Argentina banks, Banco Galicia and Brubank, will allow customers to purchase cryptocurrencies through their official websites.

Argentina is clearly a big fan of crypto. The country is considered one of the 10 countries with the highest adoption of cryptocurrencies in the world. Argentina’s two major banks also quickly catch this trend with the launch of crypto trading services.

Banco Galicia is known as the largest private bank of Argentina in terms of market value while Brubank is a fully digital bank. The two banks have partnered with the crypto wallet Lirium to offer crypto trading services to their customers starting Monday. For Banco Galicia, this feature will first be available to customers whose salaries are deposited directly into the bank.

According to Bloomberg, one of the reasons why Banco Galicia launched this service is because of high customer demand, especially from the younger generations. In a survey conducted by this bank, 60% of the participants said they would like to access crypto assets through the bank.

As crypto is growing strongly in the last few years, more and more banks have changed their tune on the crypto industry and have begun adopting the asset class. America’s oldest bank, BNY Mellon, is one of the leaders in terms of digital asset adoption, having partnered with Grayscale, participated in crypto-related funding rounds and launched its own set of services. In the case of Banco Galicia and Brubank, thanks to a partnership with Lirium crypto wallet, cryptocurrencies will be purchased through the same platform that customers use to buy bonds or stocks.
