    What Has Cardano Done in 2022?

    The Cardano Foundation (CF), a nonprofit organization and overseer of the Cardano blockchain, recently shared the highlight activities of 2022.

    Accordingly, the Cardano Foundation showed a number of partnerships formed this year, as well as on-chain growth metrics.

    The new report includes a three-year collaboration between CF and the University of Zurich Blockchain Center (UZH BCC), one of the leading research universities in Europe, to explore the development of blockchain research and education innovations.

    In addition, CF partnered with the National Liquor Authority of Georgia, Bolnisi Liquor Producers Association, and Scantrus to create a solution on the Cardano blockchain that ensures quality and credibility for Georgia wine.

    In November, the Cardano Foundation announced a new collaboration with the UN Refugee Agency’s national partner in Switzerland: Switzerland for UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).

    Glancing over the Cardano Improvement Proposals (CIPs) presented in the graph, it can be seen that 2022 sees a 100% growth in proposals. There are 50 approved proposals, 20 under review, 38 new CIP authors, and 155 pull requests by 2022, with over 2,700 comments during the year.

    Massive on-chain growth

    According to the graph posted by the Cardano Foundation, the number of Plutus scripts has grown to 4,445, an increase of 394% since 2021. The native token has more than 7.3 million, marking a 192% increase since 2021. Mining policy grew 69% year-over-year to 66,950.

    The number of transactions reached 56.9 million, an increase of 139% compared to 2021. At the same time, the total number of wallets increased by 47% to 3.8 million, while the number of authorized wallets increased by 27% to 1.24 million.

    According to the latest statistics, 1,151 projects are in various stages of development on the blockchain. So far, 111 projects have been deployed.
