Rumor: Elon Musk Is Planning to Launch Twitter Coin

Cryptory.net - Leaked images on Twitter suggest that the social platform may be planning to launch its own native coin soon.

Rumor has it on Dec 5 that Twitter might soon launch its own native coin. Some images leaked on Twitter also show that Twitter has updated code for a crypto payment and tips feature.

It is not clear whether this rumor is true or not but in the past, Twitter has made moves to enter the crypto space such as allowing users to add Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses to their profiles or set NFTs as avatars. These features were all rumors at first and then became true.

Temporary Twitter CEO Elon Musk, who in October spent more than $43 billion to acquire this social network, recently confirmed that Twitter will need a payment feature, in both fiat and crypto.

Some Twitter users have suggested that Twitter Coin could be the official acceptance of Dogecoin, which would see Twitter integrating the meme coin. However, since neither Elon Musk nor Twitter have made any official comments on the rumored cryptocurrency, it is currently unclear whether the possibility of Twitter Coin means anything for Dogecoin (DOGE).

Before taking over Twitter, Musk was a strong DOGE supporter, many times pumping this meme coin by tweeting his support. Although the rumor does not mention Dogecoin, DOGE still surged slightly and is trading at $0.10 on CoinMarketCap.
