Solana Labs’ ChatGPT Plugin Allows AI to Access Blockchain Data

To support projects that combine blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI), the Solana Foundation has announced a $1 million small-scale grant program.

The Solana Foundation is offering grants ranging from $5k to $25k for new and existing projects that combine blockchain and AI. The foundation sees a unique opportunity to build new ideas using AI on Solana’s high throughput and scalability and hopes to encourage the ecosystem to explore new use cases.

To be eligible for the grant, a tool or dApp built on Solana’s blockchain must be publicly available, open-sourced when launched, and have a source code always available to the Solana Foundation.

Solana Labs has developed an open-source ChatGPT plugin that allows users to interact with the Solana network directly from ChatGPT. Users can send SOL to a specified address and purchase Solana-based NFTs through AI-powered conversations with ChatGPT.

The intersection of blockchain and AI is particularly promising in DeFi, which aims to provide financial services without intermediaries. AI can enhance DeFi platforms by providing advanced analytics and predictive modeling, detecting fraudulent activity, optimizing investment strategies, and predicting market trends.

The Solana Foundation’s grant program and ChatGPT plugin demonstrate the potential for AI to enhance blockchain technology and encourage innovation at the intersection of blockchain and AI, particularly in the realm of decentralized finance.
