3 Satoshi-era Bitcoin Whales Awakens on Same Day

    Cryptory.net - These 3 whales moved a total of 6,500 BTC worth $230 million.

3 Satoshi-era Bitcoin Whales  simultaneously awakened and transferred 6,500 BTC (worth $230 million) on Nov 2. Satoshi-era BTC refers to the early stages of the Bitcoin network when it was still unfamiliar to users.

As BitInfoCharts reported, the first wallet transferred 2,550 BTC worth $90 million; the second transferred 2,000 BTC worth $71 million; and the third transferred 1,950 BTC worth $69 million.

All wallets have one thing in common: each wallet’s last transaction was made nearly 6 years ago, on November 5, 2017. That means these wallets hibernated throughout the Bitcoin price rally and its all-time high of  $69,000. Most Bitcoins in the three wallets date back to July 2011 and are linked to the F2Pool Bitcoin mining pool, so it is likely that these Bitcoins were accumulated through early mining. Although the wallet history and transaction patterns have many similarities, it cannot be confirmed whether the above addresses belong to the same individual or organization.

The move by these three Satoshi-era whales comes just days after Bitcoin price hit a new yearly high above $35,000. 2023 has seen a lot of Bitcoin whales as well as 10+ year old addresses wake up and transfer BTC to new addresses. In early July, a wallet that had been inactive for 11 years moved $30 million in BTC, and a month later, another Satoshi-era wallet also moved 1,005 BTC to a new address.
