Do Kwon’s location is still a hot topic in the crypto community, especially since the Korean authorities issued a warrant for his arrest on allegations including breaches of capital-markets law. On Sept 26, Interpol also issued a Red Notice against Kwon.
Although Do Kwon remained consistently calm throughout and repeatedly appeared in many interviews with the statement that he did not on the run and has been making zero effort to hide, he still hasn’t revealed his location. In Oct 2022, multiple sources reported that Do Kwon had flown to Dubai but according to Chosun (Korea), Kwon is now living in Serbia, a landlocked country in South East Europe.
Right after the information was confirmed, the Korean Ministry of Justice is requesting the Serbian government to cooperate in finding a way to arrest Do Kwon on the charges of providing false information to investors about the collapse of Terra.
South Korean authorities have been on the hunt for Do Kwon since Terra’s crash, but haven’t seemed to have had much luck pinpointing his location until now. Do Kwon seems to be enjoying his life, despite the Korean authorities’ efforts to find all ways to arrest him.
In related news, the South Korea court dismissed a request from prosecutors for an arrest warrant against Daniel Shin – Terraform Labs co-founder and close friend of Do Kwon as well. In a court ruling, Shin was unlikely to run away or destroy evidence. The court also rejected arrest warrants for three of Terra’s original investors and four developers.
