Google searches for “Buy Bitcoin” have surged globally as the crypto market is showing signs of recovery. Searches in the UK increased by more than 800% in the last week.
According to research from Cryptogambling.tv, the search keyword spiked 826% in the UK over the past 7 days. “The remarkable surge in ‘buy Bitcoin’ searches in the UK, combined with the cryptocurrency’s resurgence, underscores the growing interest and potential impact of traditional financial institutions’ involvement in the world of digital assets”, a spokesperson for Cryptogambling.tv said.
Not only in the UK, the number of searches related to buying Bitcoin has also risen sharply worldwide. As Google Trends reported, searches from users in the United States for the phrase “should I buy Bitcoin now?” increased by over 250% while more niche searches like “can I buy Bitcoin on Fidelity?” increased more than 3,100% in the past week.
The search phrase “Is this a good time to buy Bitcoin?” has seen a 110% surge worldwide in the past week. Meanwhile, searches for “BlackRock Bitcoin ETF” increased 250%, indicating user interest in news regarding BlackRock’s Bitcoin spot ETF, which is awaiting approval. Analysts Eric Balchunas and James Seyffart predict a 90% chance of a spot Bitcoin ETF approval by Jan 10, 2024.
