Light Protocol – Cutting-edge Solution for Privacy on Solana

Cryptory.net - Light Protocol uses zk-Proof technology to develop secure apps on the Solana blockchain.

Light Protocol is an open-source protocol that allows developers to build apps for privacy on Solana. It is designed specifically for Solana, aiming to help privacy apps on this blockchain achieve high speed and performance.

Light Protocol uses zk-Proof technology to protect the privacy of transactions on Solana. This means developers can build applications where users can interact with each other and with the blockchain without revealing their identities or transaction details.

    Highlights

Privacy protection: Light Protocol allows users to interact with applications without revealing their identity or transaction details, which is so important for those who want to protect their privacy.

Secure: By using zk-Proof technology, Light Protocol is secure and resistant to attacks, protecting users’ important data.

Scalable: It is a scalable protocol that can handle a large number of transactions.

    How it works

Light Protocol uses zk-SNARK to verify transaction proofs. zk-SNARK refers to a proof construction where one can prove possession of certain information (like a secret key) without revealing that information, and without any interaction between the prover and verifier. Users don’t need to sign  transactions directly, Relayers perform this task íntead and receive rewards from the protocol.

Relayers play an important role in the Light ecosystem. They are web servers that forward zero-knowledge proofs (which prove state transitions) from the client to the respective on-chain program, paying for the transaction fees in return for a fee at successful proof verification.

Here is how the protocol works:

    • Users create a zk-SNARK proof to prove they have SOL on Light Protocol. Then, the zk-SNARK proof is sent to the RPC (Remote Procedure Call).
    • Relayers epresent the owner of the digital wallet to verify and perform transactions.
    • Finally, Light Protocol transfers SOL to recipients and rewards the Relayers.

    Tokenomics

Light Protocol has no plans to issue tokens now.

    Investors

In October 2022, Light Protocol successfully raised $4.2 million in a seed round led by Polychain, Solana Ventures, Hypersphere, Asymmetric, and more.
