Illuvium overview
1. What is Illuvium game?
Illuvium is a role-playing game developed on blockchain technology. Players are immersed in a 3D fantasy world to explore and capture mystical beasts called Illuvials. By training and contesting these creatures in the arena, players can receive attractive rewards that later can be converted into real-world assets.
Although Illuvium is in the development stage, it has still received a lot of attention for stunning graphics and standout features. The game is expected to make a splash this year.
2. Backstory
Following a cryptic distress signal when traveling the galaxy, you discover a ruined planet called Illuvium. To uncover the mysteries of this land, you go around capturing creatures called the Illuvials, unsealing the Obelisks that lock the world.
About Illuvials, affected by strange radiation, these creatures have bizarre shapes and powerful attacks. There are more than 100 different species of Iluvials divided into 5 classes: Fighter, Guardian, Rogue, Psion, and Empath which players can find and collect across the Illuvium. Each pair of Illuvial collected will ensure players winning chances in matches.
Development team
Illuvium team has more than 75 members with long experience in game development and Blockchain. Some of the key members include:
- Kieran Warwick – Co-Founder: Working alongside his brother Kain Warwick in e-commerce, Kieran was exposed to Bitcoin and Ethereum early on. His eagerness for the crypto space led him to join Blueshyft. While there, Kieran successfully onboarded major Australian Exchanges and started the world’s first OTC cryptocurrency exchange.
- Aaron Warwick – Co-Founder and Game Designer: Studied computer science and physics at the University of Wollongong (Australia), Aaron has a lot of experience in game technology and development. His unique knowledge of world-building and game lore has guided Illuvium’s vision to create the world’s first AAA game built on the Ethereum blockchain.
- Nate Wells – Game Producer: Nate Wells has 20 years of experience in the gaming industry. He is the main producer of many blockbuster games like The Last of Us, Rist of the Tomb Rider. Currently, Nate Wells is also the president of Vacationland Novelty data company.
- Basil Gorin – CTO: Having more than 15 years as a technology designer, software engineer, Basil Gorin is an indispensable element of the Illuvium project. This CTO also has a solid background in Java, Web, and Blockchain.

Tokenomics
Illuvium Coin (ILV) is the main token of the game. This is an ERC20 token on the Ethereum blockchain, used for governance, liquidity mining, and Vault distribution.
How to earn ILV
Players can earn ILV by winning contests, tournaments, or completing PVE quests in the game. Besides, players can also catch Illuvials and trade them on Illuvidex – the game’s marketplace.
Roadmap
Promising Future?
One of Illuvium’s main strengths is its plot, which is critical for any RPG and sets it apart from most crypto games that are mostly concentrated on farming tokens.
Another advantage is the scaling mechanism, which reportedly allows Illuvium to host hundreds of thousands of players around the world without any congestion or lag. To do so, developers use a scaling model incorporating cloud storage resources that will unite the world of the game.
Just in the initial stages of development, the game has already appeared on lists of the 2022 most anticipated games. The only anxiety for gamers is that the developers still haven’t finalized the game, but they hope to start deploying an open Beta version later in 2022.
